Service Dog Etiquette
What to do or What NOT to do when you see a Service Dog

Don’t Distract the Service Dog

Avoid petting, talking to, or making eye contact with a service dog. Service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks for their handler and should not be distracted.

Approach the Handler

Speak to the person with the Service Dog, not the Working Dog.

Be respectful

Respect the dog as you would its owner. Don't ask questions about the person's disability, especially if it's not obvious.

Be aware of the Law

Service Dogs are allowed in most places where the public is allowed, restaurants,
**INCLUDING BUFFET/SELF-SERVICE Food areas, stores, medical offices, pre-op, hospitals, except operating rooms (where the entire area is sanitized).
Hotels cannot charge extra (unless the dog damages property), hold a deposit, or designate a specific pet room.
